Mindfulness in Nature: Happy times in happy places

There’s something about being out in nature, the sound of birds in the trees, the gentle breeze and the colours around me that instantly lifts my spirits. Mindfulness in nature doesn’t have to be anything fancy. For me, it’s the simple things: green leaves, cool air. It’s in these small, ordinary moments that I find real joy.
When I take time to stop and soak it all in, everything feels lighter. The worries and to-do lists fall away, even just for a little while. It’s a beautiful reminder that happiness isn’t something we have to chase it’s already around us, tucked into the little everyday places we sometimes forget to notice.

I truly believe we all have these special places. For some, it’s a woodland path. For others, it might be a cosy corner at home, a sunny spot on the beach, or a favourite coffee shop where they feel completely at ease.
Wherever it is, it’s worth finding time to visit your happy place even if it’s just in your imagination for a few moments each day.
How to find your Happy Place and find mindfulness in nature
If you’re not sure where your happy place is, here are a few simple ideas to help you find it:
Think about when you feel most at peace. Is it outside in nature? Curled up with a book? Walking by the sea?
Notice what soothes your senses.Maybe it’s the sound of water, the smell of fresh air, or the feeling of sunlight on your skin.
Trust your instincts. If somewhere makes you breathe a little deeper and smile without trying you’re already there.
Create a happy place at home. You can bring those peaceful feelings into your daily life a comfy chair by the window, a few plants, a candle you love, or even a playlist of natural sounds.
