Moving Through the Seasons: Summer Edition Workshop – Embrace the Energy of Summer


Summer is almost here, and it’s the perfect time to connect with the season’s abundant energy. I’m thrilled to invite you to our Moving Through the Seasons: Summer Edition workshop on 1 June, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Co-led by Linda Robin, John Strachan, and Donna Johnston, this workshop is designed to help you embrace summer’s vitality and flow with the rhythms of nature.


What is seasonal yoga?

Seasonal yoga is all about aligning your practice with the changing energies of the earth. As we step into summer, the season of growth, expansion, and abundance, we naturally feel called to move, connect, and celebrate the energy of life. Summer’s warm, expansive energy encourages us to tap into our own vitality, and yoga becomes a powerful tool to unlock and harmonise with this dynamic flow.

During our summer edition workshop, we will explore seasonal postures, breathwork, and mindfulness techniques tailored to bring balance, energy, and ease into your summer practice.


What to expect during the workshop?

We’ll guide you through a variety of practices that energise the body, quiet the mind, and help you find balance in the heat of the season. Here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect:

  1. Vinyasa flow for summer energy: Summer is a time for expansion and movement. We’ll flow through a series of invigorating poses to open up the body and activate your inner energy. Expect heart-opening postures and sequences designed to bring vitality and joy into your practice.

  2. Breathwork for clarity and calm: As the energy of summer can be intense, we’ll dive into pranayama (breathing exercises) to cool the body and mind. Donna will guide you through techniques to help clear mental clutter and cultivate a sense of calm and focus.

  3. Chi gong for balance: Even in the heat of summer, taking time to rest is crucial. I’ll guide you through a chi gong session that helps cool the body, restore energy, and bring you into a state of deep relaxation.

  4. Mindfulness and meditation for reflection: As summer is a season of abundance, we’ll take a moment to connect with the earth’s vibrant energy through mindfulness and meditation. Donna will lead a guided meditation to help you tap into the present moment and bring gratitude and awareness to your summer journey.

  5. Seasonal reflection and integration: We’ll close the workshop by reflecting on how to carry the energy of summer with us. We’ll discuss how to integrate the practices and insights you’ve gained into your daily life, allowing you to fully embrace the vitality of the season.
